Click the Play arrow below for instructions on removing and replacing the toner cartridge.

  1. Open the front door by grasping the handle in the upper-right corner of the door and pulling. The door folds down.
  2. Locate the toner-cartridge locking lever. Push the button on the lever and rotate the lever to the down position, perpendicular to the floor.
  3. Grasp the handle on the installed toner cartridge, and then pull the toner cartridge out until the handle on the top of the toner cartridge is accessible.
  4. Grasp the handle on the top of the toner cartridge, and remove the cartridge. Recycle the cartridge using the box and label provided with the replacement toner cartridge.
  5. Remove the replacement toner cartridge from its box and protective bag. Note the foldable handle on the top of the toner cartridge and the colored handle on the front.
  6. Hold the toner cartridge by the top handle.
  7. Align the toner cartridge with its slot, and then insert the toner cartridge into the product.

TIP: Align the left side first, and then align the body of the toner cartridge with the slot.

  8. Push the button on the toner-cartridge locking lever, and then rotate the lever to the up position. It should be parallel to the floor. The door will not close if the toner-cartridge lever is not parallel to the floor.
  9. Close the front door. Check the position of the toner-cartridge lever if the door does not shut properly.

NOTE: The toner cartridge has an internal toner dam to keep toner from spilling during shipping and installation. The toner dam is automatically removed the first time the product is turned on with a new toner cartridge. A squeaking noise is heard as the toner dam is removed. The noise is normal. Do not turn off the product or attempt to remove the toner cartridge while the toner dam is being removed.
